Kelsey

This gorgeous thing is Kelsey. I hope she'll forgive me for publishing a naked photo of her like this, but it happens to be the only one I have. Even if I had others, however, I probably wouldn't use them because this, to me, is Kelsey. Every time I look at this photo, all I can hear is her typing away, asking me "How do I get this box off of my head?"

Kelsey and I started Second Life around the same time and found one another early in our sojourn into, well... being newbies. I found out about "camping" (where one sits on a pose ball for 18 hours and makes L$5 for it). We camped together for two days and then put our money together and bought a belt. We did time-sharing on the belt: She wore it one day, I wore it the next, etc. It was a good arrangement. If memory serves, I don't even think it was that great of a belt. I think she still has it.

We learned together about how sometimes things you buy come in boxes and you have to open them and take the thing out before you can wear or use it. We would stroll around together... her wearing a box on her head, me wearing on on my arm, and not only did we not know why we were wearing boxes when we had paid for hair and clothes, but we didn't totally understand how to take them off. Right now I actually can't tell you why she was naked at the time this photo was taken. I suspect it's because she'd purchased some clothes and didn't know how to get them out of the box. Naturally, I had no idea how to help her. Plus, I was laughing too hard. Also, after hearing the camera click when I took the photo, she called me a "sodding bastard".

Someday when I have some energy I will tell the story about the day we went go-karting and she ended up trapped at the bottom of a lake with a dead naked German woman.

To Begin With

My name is Joel Eilde.

I'm a thirty-something man who lives and works in Second Life. I keep a small summer home in Tane and I live on the modest but sufficient money I make from working as a fashion consultant. In my spare time I like to socialize mostly, and I often find myself hitting various night clubs and discotheques with friends in the wee hours of the SL morning. My brother, with whom I am very close, is an avid builder and inventor and runs a sandbox as his bread and butter. I have a girlfriend only she's not really a girlfriend. But she is. Though not really. But yeah, kinda. Her name is Shael.

I have another friend named Briann who is something of a hulk and generally dresses a lot younger and hipper than I do, despite the fact that he's the same age as I am. Briann has a great big head. Like, gigantor size. I have another hard-partying friend by the name of SpiderPig who, in fact, sort of disgusts me and I sleep better pretending he doesn't exist. I mention these two friends specifically because they will both be making occasional contributions to this blog.

I don't have a plan for this blog. I don't have a goal. All I know is that I have experiences in Second Life which make me stop and say "I really need to record this for posterity".

And so now... I'm doing it.
